A journal entry reading Three Days of Rain begins the play that is often referred to as a puzzle in two acts. A brother and sister meet to settle their parents’ estate along with a friend, whose father was their father’s partner in an architectural firm.
In Act II the same three actors then play their own parents and reveal a romantic significance and creative dilemma that none of these children could ever have imagined.

Teams of 21 people will paddle Taiwan dragon boats in a 300 meter sprint race on the mighty Mississippi River. Divisions will include the novice to the expert, as well as juniors and Breast Cancer Survivors. Vendors will also be on site for participants and spectators.

These classed are divided into four sessions based on the Four Cornerstones of Financial Literacy. This is the first class of the four part session and will run from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm.

Nonviolent communication focuses our attention on compassion as our motivation, rather than fear, guilt, blame or shame. It emphasizes taking personal responsibility for our choices and improving the quality of our relationships as our goal. It is effective even when the other person or group is not familiar with this process.

Karen is one of the first FEMALE Loras Players, whom the infamous Fr. Schroeder borrowed from Clarke College to be featured in a musical on the Loras stage back in the day. Karen went on to star on Broadway and Television and is full of energy, vigor, and the ability to entertain with gusto!

Lyons Interpretive Center at the Mines of Spain State Recreation Area on Sunday, September 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. The Center is located at 8991 Bellevue Heights Road in Dubuque. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Mines of Spain and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The $1.8 million expansion doubled the size of the center, adding an auditorium for programs and events, a biology lab for school programs, a library for reference and educational materials, and new exhibits interpreting the science and history of the region.
